Theme for 2026: Three Objects
Part of the ACM-NE Nor’Easter Award Festival
OVERVIEW: As part of this year’s Nor’Easter awards, we are pleased to announce this year’s special contest! We are trying a brand new theme this year and are looking for short videos that must incorporate three objects, chosen randomly by our committee:
A Pumpkin – A Box – A Mirror
We welcome submissions of all types – serious, funny, and everything in between. You may create a video on any topic you want, but all three items must be featured in the video in some way. Be as creative and funny as you can!
RULES:
- Content should be rated no higher than “R”.
- You may create a new video during the entry period (does not have to have been created last year).
- Videos should be no more than 3-4 minutes.
- Similar to last year, entries will be narrowed down to the top 3-5 finalists which will be judged by the audience in-person at this year’s Nor’Easter Award Ceremony to determine the final winner.
- All submissions must be received via the FilmFreeway platform under the “SPECIAL CONTEST: Three Objects” category
- DVDs cannot be accepted
- Submissions must be received no later than Friday, October 30 at 11:59pm. We are unable to extend this deadline so please plan accordingly 🙂
- Facilities may enter as many videos as they wish, with one entry fee charged per video.
JUDGING CRITERIA: Videos will be judged on the following criteria:
- Theme / How well did you incorporate all three objects?
- All videos will be judged by a designated judging site in an initial round and narrowed down to the top 3-5 videos which will be our finalists.
- The finalists’ videos will be posted online for review in advance of the Nor’Easter award festival.
- An audience vote during the Nor’Easter awards on November 17 will determine the winner of the contest once verified by the Nor’Easter award committee.
- The decision of the award committee is final.
AWARDS / PRIZES: The first place award winner will receive an award for their submission. Additional finalists will receive a certificate for their submissions
COST: The cost for each entry will be $30.00
