Audrey Duncan has been serving the Bronx through BronxNet, since the station began broadcasting in1993. As Director of Community Affairs, she is responsible for developing and implementing projects and activities that build and strengthen partnerships with Bronx organizations, residents and officials for the purpose of ensuring BronxNet’s role in community development. Ms. Duncan is responsible for public policy partnerships, publicity, media relations, capital proposals and helping to negotiate community benefits agreements that secure BronxNet’s long-term sustainability and growth.
In previous roles at BronxNet, Ms. Duncan oversaw development and training activities including:
- Running the hands-on, television production training program that provides Bronx residents and organizations with technical and creative production skills
- Developing financial support including foundation grants and corporate underwriting for BronxNet’s television programs and services
- Creating and implementing marketing, and outreach plans and writing and editing communications materials
- Producing special live and televised events including the BETA Awards, an annual televised production excellence awards ceremony.
Ms. Duncan was formerly a producer at Time Warner’s Paragon Cable and held fundraising and communications positions at several public service organizations. She is an independent documentary and theater producer and the recipient of a television industry Telly Award and a CableAce Award.
Ms. Duncan is a national board member of the Alliance for Community Media. She is committed to developing and providing resources that help individuals express their creative vision and build up communities through media.
