Lonnie Reed’s multi-faceted career includes success as a Journalist, Documentary Filmmaker and Legislator. After choosing not to run again for her seat in the Connecticut State House of Representatives, she is pursuing a variety of interests. She has also been appointed by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont to Chair the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Green Bank. The Green Bank was established to speed the deployment of clean, affordable energy by attracting private investors and reducing the reliance on public money — taxpayer and ratepayer dollars.

Prior to entering elective politics, Lonnie Reed worked as an award winning Newspaper Journalist, Television News Investigative Reporter and Anchor for TV stations including WFSB, Hartford and WNEW, NY and as a contributing correspondent to CBS News. She has been a White House correspondent; hosted Off the Set, a political talk show in NY; been honored repeatedly for her investigative reports. Her awards include tributes from the Society of Professional Journalists (Sigma Delta Chi) and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. Her multiple Emmys include the Primetime Outstanding Special Award for the NBC production, Lucy and Desi: A Home Movie. She has also received myriad film festival prizes for productions that include the top-rated documentary, Muhammad Ali: The Whole Story.
