Eric Dresser, Executive Director, Whitman Hanson Community Access
Eric is the Executive Director of Whitman Hanson Community Access and was previously the founding Executive Director of Hingham Community Access & Media (HCAM, now Harbor Media).  At both WHCA & HCAM Eric worked on the development and implementation of; organizational policies & procedures, a fitting staffing plan, and programming/broadcast standards.  Perhaps most importantly however, Eric has focused a large amount of attention and effort on capacity building to provide an environment that is supportive of the organizations’ mission.  To this end, in 2016, Eric guided HCAM through an expansion into new physical space and the redesign and modernization of the stations equipment and facilities optimized for use in the dynamic setting that is a modern community media center.  In 2017 Eric moved to Whitman Hanson Community Access and has been tackling similar projects in order to bring WHCA up to date with an eye toward the future of our industry.  Initial work at WHCA includes several projects to optimize the station’s existing facilities, all while still managing a major refresh on other elements of the center’s program including the launch of a new website and email platform, updates to the staffing plan and employee handbook, and numerous production upgrades including a new playback system.  Larger plans are in development for a more longterm facility expansion as part of WHCA’s longterm strategic plan.
