This is adapted from a report by Tony Arrien, chair of the New York state chapter:

ACM New York had a “Community Media Advocacy Day” in Albany back on March 29, 2017. In addition to most of our ACMNY Board members, more than a dozen Community Media representatives from all over the state went to the capital for legislative visits.

LMC-TV‘s Matt Sullivan made a 5-minute video about this event, which you can see here. It was originally shown on “The Local Live” news program for the Larchmont-Mamaroneck area in Westchester County. Matt is also an ACMNY Board Member.

All this was made possible by Marc Gronich (recently dubbed ACMNY’s Director of Legislative Affairs), who masterminded and organized roughly 23 legislative visits in one day. His knowledge of workings in the capital and his personal connections with those who work there has helped step up the group’s efforts to bring community media to the dark areas of New York.

“It was an amazing experience!” concludes Tony.  Congratulations to ACMNY!
