A Message from the ACM-NE Chair
Happy February and post-Superbowl hangover! The ACM-NE wants to remind all of our members that we have a special funding program called the ACM-NE Mini Grant Fund. Launched in 2015, this program encourages our fellow media centers to think outside the box for their application submission.
This is a very selective process, but we invite nonprofit media centers, government organizations, educational institutions, as well as individuals or artists working with the PEG media center as their fiscal sponsor, to consider applying. We understand that some media centers face challenges to fund their own special projects, and this is one way the ACM-NE can help support our members and their creative projects!
Over the years we have funded retrospective community TV film festivals, educational documentaries to a Playwrights showcase. Please visit the project’s page under “About Us” to learn more and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at ejones@somervillemedia.org! Keep on being a community force!
And on that note, I leave you with this: “Creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye.” Dorothy Parker was onto something—no creative idea is a bad one as there is even success in failure.
Please also save the date for our 2018 Regional Conference (October 12-13), taking place in my hometown of Schenectady in the Capital Region. We are working hard on creating an engaging and affordable conference, full of exciting vendors, workshops, parties and networking opportunities. We hope you can join us!
Cheers, Erica Jones, ACM-NE Chair.
