The spring conference will be on 4/29 at High Output Studios in Canton, MA, with vendors & workshops. As at other conferences, those interested only in the trade show must pay to enter. ACM-NE will have a table at this MassAccess conference to provide information on our national & regional organizations. A MassAccess table may appear at Northeast events in the future.
The Massachusetts Production Coalition, a group of film & TV professionals, is promoting Mass Access announcements in exchange for member rates to events.
MassAccess and many of its members filed comments with the FCC regarding their Notice of Inquiry (MB 16-41) about promoting the availability of diverse and independent sources of video.
In state legislature, House Bill 2847 (An Act to support community access television) went to committee and was sent to a study. Representative Ruth Balser is making an amendment to the budget bill with HD and EPG elements. On 4/13 the budget bill will be sent to the House, which is when Balser can add the amendments. MassAccess is working on obtaining more support in the Senate.
