Studio Associate-Temporary Full Time

Overview: The Framingham Public Access Corporation (FPAC) is seeking a Studio Associate who wants to join a growing, service oriented Media Center. The Studio Associate is responsible for ensuring that the Access Television philosophy for training and delivery is upheld by education, outreach, and service. The Studio Associate shall report directly to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organization and planning skills and ideally has experience in editing, studio production and field production. This is a Temporary Contract position with the option to become permanent with benefits for the right candidate.

Job Requirements:

* Bachelor’s or Associates degree or comparable training in communications, or media arts
* Minimum of 2 years experience in media production
* Computer skills, including Windows, Macintosh, non linear editing and video production graphics software programs
* Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
* Ability to interact effectively with the public
* Ability to work independently and also part of a cooperative team
* Video Production and non-linear content creation skills

Primary Job Responsibilities

* Primary responsibility to assist community producers in all aspects of program creation
* Implement, organize and maintain all Media Center equipment databases
* Keep all field and studio equipment serviced and maintained
* Help instruct members in all aspects of production
* Oversee community Bulletin Board management
* Work with the Production Technician to schedule FPAC Public Access efforts and assess technical needs for coverage as well as determining the nature (live/taped) of the coverage. Work with Executive Director to coordinate delivery of Public access services for maximum community use
* Create show promos and PSAs for corporation. Edit FPAC produced shows to educate the community about Public Access and benefits of membership
* Schedule and coordinate all aspects of the Media Center, including, but not limited to studio times, edit areas and portable equipment

* Assist in various training functions at the Media Center
* Assist in all day-to-day operational functions at the Media Center

Desirable Qualifications

* Facil or other Access Center Software
* Apple Final Cut Pro
* Tightrope or other media server
* Basic web design experience
* A positive energetic attitude
