Heather McCormack, Youth Media Program Director, Boston Free Radio Station Manager, Somerville Media Center
Heather McCormack is passionate about using the power of community media to engage all people, especially those who are traditionally underrepresented, in telling their stories in ways that are empowering, accessible, and active in promoting social change. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2010 with a BA in Communication and a Certificate in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latin@ studies. In 2015 she received her M. Ed from the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Prevention Science and Practice program. Additionally, she has been involved in radio since the age of 14, when she got her first radio show in high school. More recently she co-hosted a local politics and activism talk show on UNRegular Radio, and is thrilled to be able to unite her multiple passions into her role at SCATV as the Youth Media Coordinator and Boston Free Radio manager.
